WHO WE ARE:
Drone by Dro was founded in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, with a mission to solve a multitude of issues for businesses across several different industries. Based in Silver Spring, we offer a wide range of services using cutting-edge drone technology, including aerial stills for Real Estate listings, marketing videos for corporate companies, and data gathering for construction site managers. Our services include traditional drone photography, as well as 3D mapping and thermal scanning.
As a certified Part 107 licensed drone operator by the FAA for over a year, and with 4 years of recreational flying experience, we officially launched DBD as a business, and are now a registered LLC in the state of Maryland. In 2022, DBD won national awards and had 40+ flights approved by the FAA in DC Flight Restriction Zones. We achieved certification for Thermal drone inspections and have become one of the top drone service providers in Maryland and Virginia.

HOW WE STARTED:
"The interest in drones began in 2016, starting with an impulse purchase of a $50 toy drone. Pairing my newfound interest of videography with drones, it grew to a daily hobby & overall passion. I'd set out to explore new places, remain active outdoors, all while sharpening my skills. During the pandemic, I had been laid off from work, had dropped out of college in hopes to launch my own company, & was coming down to my final unemployment checks. Thankfully, I never spent much of my UI, so there was my starting capital, using half of what I had saved to begin investing. I used my 8 years of food service experience (you learn how to become extremely patient) & 3 years of video production & social media management to ultimately monetize my drone content & become a business at the end of 2020. I'm proud of the growth we have seen since we first started, as we have now been able to provide job opportunities, work with some of the biggest companies in the world, and push the boundaries of this industry."

We worked with Pedro several times over the past year, and have nothing but good things to say about him and his work. He captured aerial photography of our downtown for use in marketing materials, and worked with us and another company to create a virtual tour of downtown Bethesda with drone photography and video. Communication is great, he's quick to respond to emails and calls, and his photography is top notch.
I had the pleasure to work with the Drone by Dro team to record several drone videos of a campus environment located within the Washington, D.C. FRZ. Pedro was able to successfully work with the TSA to obtain a waiver to fly within restricted air space and also coordinated his team to record video within the direct flight path used by emergency helicopter services.
Despite all of these restrictions Drone by Dro produced professional, high-quality video and still images of our campus. After two shoots Pedro provided premiere customer service in selecting and editing images and also produced a marketing video from the drone footage. I highly recommend Drone by Dro and hope to work with Pedro and his team on future projects.
